Coleman BlueKatts Varsity Defeats The Miles
Kaci Williams scored 10 points to bring Coleman to a 40-39 victory over the Miles on Wednesday. On a free throw from Kelsi Willis, Coleman BlueKatts Varsity clinched their win in the fourth quarter with 4 seconds to go in the game.
Coleman fell behind early, trailing 18-13 by the half, only to come back hard in the final two quarters. With 16 points in the final quarter, Coleman had a solid finish. Both Coleman BlueKatts Varsity and the Miles had physical games, with 21 and 21 personal fouls, respectively.
Williams sunk the most shots during the third period, earning seven points for Coleman.
Also helping the effort for Coleman were Willis (9 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals), Ashley Hammonds (7 points, 4 rebounds), Kaylee Needham (4 points), Kloe Hale (4 points, 1 rebound), Missy Broeker (3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block) and Jolyn Zarate (2 points, 1 steal). Alexa Bordelon was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up four rebounds and one steal.
Coleman finished the game with 28 rebounds (13 offensive/15 defensive), one block and five steals.
